Bristol Rose Clinic
The Bristol Community Rose clinic is part of a National network of clinics supporting women who have experienced FGM, female genital mutilation. Any woman who has experienced FGM can refer herself.
Other terms for FGM include female circumcision, cutting , Sunna and Gudiniin.
The clinic gives women the chance to discuss their physical and mental health needs relating to their FGM in a sensitive and non-judgmental environment.
This specialist service is staffed by an all-female team who understand the complexities of FGM. We always have access to telephone interpreters and we also have a health care advocate who is available when requested. You may wish to bring a friend to translate or for support and they will be welcome.
The Rose clinic has a dedicated counsellor to discuss matters that arise from the consultations.
All clinic appointments are confidential.
We are able to offer this service to all women over the age of 18 who are registered with a Bristol GP.
Contact the Rose Clinic on 07813 016 911, or email: bnssg.bristolrose.clinic@nhs.net - all communication is confidential. Alternatively, talk to your GP about a referral to the clinic.
